SHO Victim
Crazy question for you:
IF my SHO is unrepairable, I'd like to salvage what I can.
1. If I pull the SUB AMP and Speakers can they be plugged into the pre-amp of an aftermarket deck? It's a JVC deck that's a few years old, it DOES have rear pre-amp RCA jacks.
2. What does the crossover duties on the JBL system??
3. Does the sub amp automatically amplify the bass only, or would I need to also pull the SHO amp?
The wiring diagrams I pulled on the forum here don't make a difference between the sub amp and the regular amp.

My van stereo sucks, but I just changed out the factory tape player and it sounds a little better. I really don't have much money to throw at it... I know that buying new speakers would be the best option.
Right now it has 3.5 inch speakers in the dash, and some 6.5 inchers in the liftgate in the back. The JVC deck I put in is rated 40w/ channel. (Probably max and not RMS though... )
Maybe I'll put the SHO's speakers in the back. I'm considering building small boxes to put the subs under the front seats.
Then I'd need to install a dash power switch for the subs/amp since my wife doesn't like the bass. And there will be a newborn riding w/ us in September....
Would turning the amp (connected to the pre-amps) on or off while the Deck is turned on hurt anything?
THANKS!
