Sorry guys im sure there is plenty of threads adressing this question already but I am in a bind and need info fast so any help will be appreciated.

I have a question. Im about to have valve cover gaskets and a tune up done on my sho next week. I have been looking around for plugs and the dealer has them for $8.27 a peice and the motorcraft part # is AGSP-32-FM. I called O'Reilly auto parts and they have a motorcraft plug showing as an oem replacement for the sho for $2.99 each. The only thing is that the guy at O'Reilly said he could not verify the motorcraft part # as the same plug because they use different part #'s. So my question, is this the same plug? Or are they carrying a cheaper version. The guy did say it was a platinum plug with a nickel plated shell, which from my understanding is the same with the AGSP-32-FM. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The Autolite APP3924 is a double platinum plug recommended for the SHO. It is readily available at Autozone for $3.99, and I imagine O-reilly has it too. That's what I'm running, and the fit and performance are fine.

Thanks for the info guys. I went to another local parts retailer who had the motorcraft plugs for $3.95 each in stock. I had them pull one out so I could take a look, and sure enough they were motorcraft # AGSP-32-FM-same as the dealer. O'Reily had them for $2.99 each but they had to order them for me and they will be in tomorrow. As long as they are also the AGSP-32-FM I will be going with them. The local ford dealer wants $8.25 each! I guess they dont call them the stealership for nothing ;). They did steal me on a set of plug wires though. The motorcraft wires at the dealer had a list price of $349.99!!! The parts manager said it was the last set around and they had been discontinued so he could work with me on the price. I got them down to $181.39. I know I could get them a little bit cheaper online but I needed them by monday so I had to do it. Still damn expensive though for plug wires!

Thanks!

Well I wouldnt say "*****" because I dont consider it that high if you price motorcraft wires for the 3.2, keep in mind they are more expensive than for the 3.0.

The cheapest I found them online for was $160+shipping and that was on ebay. may be cheaper elsewere online but I doubt by much. So I wouldnt consider $180 being "*****" :squint:, definately a lot of money though for plug wires regardless.

the spiro pros list for 87.99, but are 8.0mm

ive ran these wires for about a year now mated with motorcraft plugs and havnt had a problem/complaint to speak of

Which Motorcraft plugs...

the stockers or the "replacements" since the agsp32pp are discontinued.

My comment was based on the 3.0L wire set, but you still paid ~40-percent above dealer cost.

FWIW for anyone looking in the future, don't forget that the 3.0L OE wire set (P/N WR4033 or E9DZ-12259-A) WILL fit the 3.2 engine just fine. The wires to the rear bank (mostly cyl. 1) won't have as much slack as the 3.2 set, but they a. don't require slack, and b. are generally cheaper than the 3.2 wires.

Many places online sell the 3.0L wires for under $150, and Torrie at Fast Parts Network may still offer them cheaper than his catalog shows, you should email first to verify. For the longest time, he sold them for $99 when everyone else was twice the price. He used to have a dedicated SHO page separate from his online catalog, but it doesn't look like he does any longer.
