I was wondering if anybody knows if the wiring harness for the motor is the same in a 1996 sho as a 1997 sho?

Not identical.....

They are similar enough that the couple of plugs (coolant temp sensor and I want to say starter) that are differnet can be cut and soldered off of your old harness...

That SAI pump plug is a total pain to get unplugged and fished up out of the way, same witht he Rear O2's and VAPS pressure switch.

AC ground is on the fender on the '96 harness and on the firewall on the '97. I also had an issue with the temp guage sensor as well.

Similar enough that they can be interchanged pretty easily. Probably about an extra 15 minutes of work and $10 in parts. We've probably done it a dozen or so times, in both directions ('96 harnesses into '97s and '97 harnesses into '96s).

I've found something I do well and am attempting to excel at it (complicating things of course).
