So yes, I did read through as many of the threads as I could find regarding motor mounts. I need a front one badly. The intake on this SHO I bought is gouged from rubbing on the hood. I see that Sho source has the reinforced ones for $130. I tried to contact the guy here from the forum (forget his name) that was using the urethane and repairing them. I have not heard back from him, anyone know who I'm talking about? I'd like to support him first, but if I don't hear from him I'll be ordering one from Sho Source.

thanks for any info. anyone can offer. :thankyou:

If you are really feeling cheap you can try and repair your own. Take the old one out, drill through the sides of the mount and rubber and then place bolts through the assembly.

Not just bolts...unless you want a broken weldnut on the mount.

Get a stabilizer bar endlink bushing kit. Use bolts long enough to go through the mount and the bushings. Stick the bolt through the hole from the 'inside' and put the bushings on the outside.

Sorry about not responding. My Email has been on the fritze lately.

As for mounts, I do not currently offer them, and do not plan to any time soon.

Mike and Kurt at SHO Source has since taken the reigns on my design, and are building them for sales thru SHO Source. So any requests I get for them, I simply redirect them to Mike and Kurt

You could always weld angle iron to the mount :naughty:
or you can find a wholesaler who sells pourable urethane and buy from them

Kenny, thanks for the message. Not to worry, I just thought I'd support you if you were still making them. I'll support Sho Source then. Thanks for the other replies. I just don't care to mess with this thing, and I don't mind supporting Kenny's design through SS.

That has got to be one of the most non-personal experience replies I have heard that makes no sense, unless you were using Chinese bolts!

For what it's worth, I've been on straight bolts for 6 years and never had a problem. I've broke about everything else in the driveline besides those mounts...

Mels,
you may be right and its not an "emergency" issue, but if you've driven one of these things with a broken motor mount and you've seen how far the motor lifts when engaging the clutch you'd think of it as a big deal. Thanks for the welcome!

I did some temporary bracing with some wires to try and hold the motor at least a little bit until I can that new reinforced mount from sho source...

Ask SHOBill...
My reinforced front mount broke at the top captured weld nut(the weld nut separated from the mount)...this allowed the hole to be elongated, leading to engine movement and a nasty clunk. Maybe the weld was weak from the factory, but I can certainly see how it happened...

So :p to your "non personal experience".

What you just explained happens when the bolts are not torqued to proper specs, even with stock motor mounts. Been there, done that.

I was originally under the impression you were talking about the newly welded nuts for the reinforcement bolts installed[for those who do that].
