Ok, when my car is at idle or high rev it is fine. But at about 1200-1500 RPM I hear a metal on metal sound. Kind of like marbles are in there. Anyone know what this knocking could be??? Need help ASAP! Thanks.

That might possibly be a worn timing chain tensioner, they tend to make the most noise at roughly that RPM.

You need to post more information to get useful responses (car year, trans. type, milage, specific location of noise, when noise started, etc.) :thumb:

Are you sure its coming from the motor? Do you hear it when not in gear?

I had the same problem on my 92 right after I bought it. I did full 60K and rod bearing, and checked everything, still had the noise. I finally bought a stethascope <sp> for $5 at the auto parts store and it turned out one of my cats, it had broken in to peices. So I plasma cut the bottom of both cats and removed them and welded it back together, problem solved.
