I was in San Diego yesterday about to get onto the 15 freeway. When I stopped the engine was holding at 1500rpms (not jut the tach reading it), so I shifted to neutral, and it raced up to 2400. When I put it back in drive, the rpms fell back to 1k. No, I wasn't pressing the gas at the time, I had my foot pressing on the brake. Hasn't happened again, yet, and no codes were displayed.

FWIW, Sean, I inherited the same set of symptoms when a relatively-new O'Reilly's front mount sheared itself in half while I was driving through a four-way, lighted intersection one night last year. Although I know you're running a set of MikeD's solid motor mounts, have you double-checked your front mount to verify that a) the mount has not broken at the welds, b) all three mounting bolts are securely fastened and c) the engine-to-mount support bracket is still in one piece?

I have checked. Both front and rear mounts are fine, bolts tight, etc. I do feel some movement when I give it some gas, but that is most likely due to bad subframe bushings and/or tranny mount.
