Not sure what you're getting at here. You want to drop those pistons into the v8 motor?

I don't think there is enough clearance to bore the cylinders. If it was, this would have been done a LONG time ago.

the only thing I was thinking, and kinda hinted to Kirk when I was up at NESHO in june, has anyone talked about a stroker kit for the 3.4. He wasnt sure, i thought it would be a killer idea.

its piston is used by the engine mazda kl which uses a block Duratec. He commend liners are the same as the engine of sho? 2mm is small and give 3.6liter to the sho engine

I don't think anyone is going to stroke the V-8 SHO motor. It was talked about before on here. Cost effectiveness and the results are probably not going to go hand in hand. If you want a stroker motor, buy a Mustang.

Most of us haven't gone this direction so there is very limited knowlege in this area. There are other Quebecers on the board and some are very mechanically inclined. Most are in the v6 sections. Please post with new info as you get it.

Each cylinder has a different number stamp designating the bore in the cylinder. Some are bigger some are smaller. I know Paul has elaborated on this before and I've seen pictures of the stamp on the block, never had mine torn down that far. It may be possible to bore the cylinder for the piston to fit if it's smaller, but if it's bigger you're screwed.

It's been discussed, but never tried as far as my knowledge goes.

The KL series in the Probe/MX-6/626/etc. is very very different from the 2.5/3.0 Duratec in the Taurus/Sable/Mazda6/etc.

yes but the engine mazda kl and another honda b20b its very diferente but both are very likeness of the piston to sho I'm not an expert in the matter b20b example: 21mm piston pin in such a sho: compression height: 1.18 similar to sho: 84mmbore Wiseco Forged 1.6mm above sho

that what are we to do to send more psi in the engine lol

the article says no on the 4.0L, it'd ruin the liners, but that'd be a 7.5mm increase in bore. would a 2mm increase ruin it too?

i read somewhere that the liners would have to be replaced in order to increase the bore...which is where the problem comes into play.

do not want to overbore the block. I just want to build the piston to send more psi to the block Wiseco piston to make the b20b block which requires 1.6 mm larger than stock which is very minimal in my opinion ...

I thought i remembered hearing somewhere that their are 3.2 or 3.3 Tec's running around, I wouldn't think that the bore increase on those is any bigger than the SHO's bore increase, and I'm guessing they have similar liners to the SHO since they are both alloy blocks, so unless they're replacing them when they increase the bore (i suppose it could also be a stroker kit), maybe the liners are thick enough for it.
