Dead Moonroof Motor

All I know is when I press the button nothing happens. I think the motor died.

The relay is located inside the dash, behind and to the right of the glove box on a mount bolted to the top of the blower motor housing. The relay is a sliver cube with (for no apparent reason) a BMW logo stamped on the side.

The early SHOs have a place where you can manually crank the sliding portion, kind of what you see sticking out of a door when the manual lever has been taken off the window regualator. If you have a Gen 1, that will buy you some time.

I don't hear anything at all when I press the button. I have a 92 MTX. Is it possible to see pictures of the relay and the sliding portion?

Just fold your glove box all the way open and you will see it up and to the right.

or you can take the glove box off altogether, it's simple. just three screws in the lower part and it comes off.
I bet is the relay. I changed the relay on mine and even with a new one sometimes works, sometimes not.
Do you guys know if the relay has to be bolted to make a ground connection and work properly?
