I need some opinions. My 2013 Lincoln Mks ecoboost was rear ended on Friday and I was pushed into the car in front of me. Do you think there is a chance it could be totalled judging from the pics. I know there is more involved than just looking at pics, but I thought maybe someone has bodyshop experience and i could get some opinions. Also, the front bumper cover will have to be replaced. I attached some pics. 20180408 172045 20180408 172023 20180408 172013 20180408 171829 20180408 171829 20180408 172013 20180408 172023 20180408 172045

Sorry for some of the pics being posted twice. There are 2 attached files that won't load as thumbnails. Those are the most telling.

Right side of the frame it's bent... given the year of your vehicle I am pretty sure it will be totalled.

it is very likely it will be totalled, based on what I am seeing. most insurance companies will total if the repair cost exceeds 60% or 65% of value, and it does not take much damage to the unibody structure to get to big numbers.

I work as an auto adjuster for one of the major insurance companies. Based on what I see, you need:
rear bumper assembly (rear bumper, absorber, and impact bar)
rear body panel
rear floor panel
right frame rail (this will total the vehicle)
potentially both tail lamps depending on if mounting tabs are not damaged

Based on the photos, you also may need repair to the right quarter panel if it's buckled. My experience would say it's totaled. With the right rail torn due to the hitch, that will require a lot of labor to replace. If for some reason they do decide to repair it, I would be hesitant to accept it back. Heavy rear end damage.

Thanks for all the replies, I was afraid this was going to be the consensus. I should find out sometime this week.

Sorry to see this happen. Hope you at least get replacement value if the mks is totaled.

The insurance adjuster just left and said the car is most likely a total loss. They would give me $20,750 for the car. They are not doing anything until they look at the car that hit me.

Assuming normal miles (~60k) that would be a real fair valuation in this part of the country.

I would say totaled. There seems to be some rust getting started too. That doesn't help the value either.
