So I went to a local dealership just to get a estimate on a couple things and they said that my tranny issues (rough shifts) are caused by a broken mount. Could a broken mount cause the tranny not being able to find 3rd when coming down from 4th??

Seems kind of odd that could happen.

im pretty sure thats what it could be because my 92 does the same thing. if you wait a second or 2 you can hit 3rd like butta but if you try to go fast it will bump in or just grind..

for 5 speed-
not being able to get into a certain gear at a particular speed will mean its spinning too fast...one of the gears...it will grind if u force it enough. or that your syncros are wearing out for that particular gear. or your clutch and/or pressure plate has about had it.

missing a shift in auto-hard shifts and not shifting properly tell me its the Vehicle Speed Sensor (i just had that experience) check your ECU codes... and yes broken mounts will also make for harder and jerkier shifts

p.s. look to be flat black slicers

How hard is this to get to or check? I can do my own work on my sho. I've never pulled out a an mtx though.

technicaly you would have to pull your tranny and open it up to check the syncros for real. but if it is hard to get in all gears (if 5 speed), then it is more than likely a clutch related problem (pressure plate not fully compressing...) you can tell that easier if it always grinds into reverse and you have to pull really hard ot get it in there. reverse has no syncros...

I havent had time to check but, 3rd and 5th are sometimes not engaging during normal speed. It feels like, when it does engage, it doesn't engage fully or the throw is way too short, then it grinds. What do u think it is?

Blocking rings, if your clutch is good.
