Hello all,

My dad gave me his 1994 SHO 3.0 L several years ago, and I have been working to restore it ever since. Right now I have encountered a misfire problem along with failing emissions. I am currently researching how to clean the EGR system and also the spark plug tube seals. I have noticed oil in my spark plug tubes. I have the chiltons, and have read the posts on how to clean the EGR, but I am uncertain of the gaskets I will need to buy to fix the leaking oil. I replaced the coil already, and plan on doing the wires when I have the intake off. The car has new spark plugs, and new cats, and I don't want to run the car until I fix the misfire. Any suggestions?

no, the intake gaskets are re-usable.

Thank you

I appreciate your assistance. I can hardly wait to get dirty. I sure hope that with these final repairs, my SHO will run like it should again. My old man will be happy too. He just bought the 2010 SHO and it is so fast.

Look for the fel pro set for valve covers. Be careful not to tighten the valve cover bolts too much. They are very soft and like to break off. New plugs and wires while you're at it.

Ok. Was already looking at the fel pro set. I also have the chiltons, and a torque wrench, so I will make sure to follow the instructions carefully. Looking at new performance 8.5mm wires and just added new motor craft plugs, that only have test drive miles on them.

Torque wrench is great but don't use it on the valve cover bolts. The aluminum is too soft and may or may not hold up to the original torque specs. Get the bolts "snug" and not "really tight". These are technical terms that apply to this specific situation. Many of us have had to extract broken valve cover bolts and it ain't all that much fun. Save yourself alot of extra work if possible. I would look at oem wires from a discount vendor and see how much they are compared to 8.5 performance wires.

Once you get all the ticky tacky maintenance done, you'll be needing some boost to keep up with the old man.

I have one and it has come in handy from time to time. Just remember that it has some errors in it. I think the firing order has been fixed in later prints, but it still says to change your supercharger fluid.:laugh_ti:
