For some reason the passenger and driver side mirrors were not painted green like the car. There just a dull black and the glass has a blue tint as well. I am guessing they were replaced at some point. Sounds like a weekend project (painting the mirrors)
all slo's were painted body color(second gen). all sho's were painted black(also second). plus's were painted black for gen1 all minuses were body colored.
They match the rest of the chrome-delete trim that way...
Funny though, mine are that same grey crap color... but I just assumed it was age showing on the plastic and that the mirrors were the same color as the rest of the black detailing when the car was new. Now that you mention it, that'd be a really easy fix, and I bet it'd sharpen the car up nicely if I refreshed all the stuff that's supposed to be black.
EDIT: My memory sucks. I think they're only crap grey when I'm looking very closely. From a distance, they seem to match the trim just fine:
That pic's from a post about three weeks ago, right after I washed her.
Do they have the Blue glass? I like the blue tint makes me feel like I'm driving a mercedes untill I look around the car and think to myself oh, I'm still in this old biotch.
Well.......painted the mirrors yesterday. Was skeptical as how to approach this job. I found some adhesion promoter and sprayed a couple coats on. I left the mirrors on the car. Found some spray paint that was about as close as I could find to the color and applied 6 coats to each.
Long term should be interesting. The new look rocks. I am glad I did it.
I found it at Walmart. I used rubbing alcohol first before applying the promoter. I used Deep Jewel Green paint. They didn't carry the Metallic, oh well.
