I'm redoing all my brakes on my 90 SHO. And I just got done putting new calipers, rotors, pads and some braided stainless steel brake lines on. UNfortaunalty one of the hard lines broke when I was taking off the rubber hose fitting to put the new braided steel line on. But I put a new fitting on and had to buy the double flare tool and fixed the problem. So i went to bleed the brakes, which should have been the final thing to do. But after spotting a leak where I put the new fitting on, I had to stop and fix that. Whihc I did. So I started again bleeding the brakes. Than after a few pumps on the brake pedal and bleeding out the right rear, I was just about confidante enough to move on to the left rear but, I wnated to try and squeeze a little more air or fluid out just to make sure. And when I did that the pedal went to the floor. And I blew one of the hard lines for one of the rears. The part that blew is the part that goes up over the rear and it;s the part where you can't get to.
So after that long story, I'm "planning" to just put a whole new line in from the proportioning valve box up fromt to the PV box in the rear. I'll be taking my path for the lines and not flowing the factorys path. So this way i can make a lot less bends and should be simpler. So does this make any sense to you guys for me to do it this way? i was alos woudnering about covering the lines with some sort of rubber selant, maybe that stuff they use for rhino lines in truck beds. or is it true that most brake lines rust from thr inside out, due to moisture getting in the lines??
Thanx for any help or info
