I wondering for those of you that use you SHO as a daily, about how many miles do you travel everyday round trip?, ex. to and from work, school etc...

I been applying to some jobs that are a little farther from me than I or my sho are used to traveling everyday, iam kinda worried about the ol' sho, usually I dont worry because I've always worked or went to school no further than 15-20 miles from where I live, soo if i broke down it wouldnt be a huge deal, but traveling everyday much farther than that to a place that iam not familiar with kinda scares me

For the last several month's my SHO has been seeing some extreme driving, but I keep her in tip top shape. The SHO can take a communte really well, just depends if you keep her up to speck. I passed 200k on my SHO on July 3rd, and right now I'm at 204,4xx. Last weekend I did 1k in 2 days ( a bit of a trip).

The SHO can handle it if you treat her well, oh and mine does see 7k multiple times a day, don't think I baby it.

Yea, I drive mine almost 90 miles a day round trip, and without AAA. AAA is for sissy's who don't keep tools in the trunk. LOL To be honest, since its been back on the road, I've kept my socket set, a few pry bars, a multi meter, extra fuses, and a few other choice things, like my spare CCRM relay, another XJ2, all the little things that would be an "on the road fatalitiy". That plus a list of codes, and there really isn't a reason to get stranded.

I put almost 100 miles a day on mine. Does fine but I do my best to keep up on all maintenence. No AAA but, like Eric, I keep tools in the trunk at all times. Only had to use them once so far when my a/c compressor clutch locked up and took out the belt. Got a shorter belt and was back on the road in 1/2 hour.

Depends on the day for me... But on avg., about 30miles round trip. That's not to say that I don't drive the car for an extra 20-30miles a day just for fun though. :naughty:
I like to take the long way home.... :nut:

I drive mine 74 miles (highway) round trip, five days a week. I change my oil about every month and a half, I'm very **** on that one. A full tank of gas lasts me a week on my 5-spd. I've been traveling with this car to work for the last four years and have never had a problem (knocks on wood). All cars a different tho.

A decently maintained SHO should do fine with a good paying job to support it. :oogle:

I drive 15 miles round trip to work 5 days a week. On friday nights, i make the trek out to Kansas University to party it up. (Yes, i always stay the night there and go home saturday mornings sober as a nun) That is around 70 miles round trip. On saturdays and sundays, i probably rack up another 20 or so miles.

So all in all i drive around 165 miles a week if my mental math serves me right. :)

I still manage to go through almost 1 tank of gas in a week though... Guess that shows ya how "grandma-like my driving is.

Back when I actually had a running SHO (either of them) I would just go for a "drive" and end up putting maybe 200-300 miles on it in one day. That was mostly in my unmaintained Black '93, and I never had a problem with it. I drove the '90 quite a bit, too, but I didn't put that many high-mileage trips on it...

One hundred miles a day Monday through Friday for the trip to work and another few dozen more for regular errands on evenings and weekends. This summer, after driving the 360-mile round trip to spend two days running at the Texas World Speedway's road course, the SHO has made the 1144-mile round trip to South Padre Island, the 600-mile round trip to Hot Springs, AR, the 520-mile round trip to Houston and the 560-mile round trip to Tulsa, OK, all with the family of four on board and on the Houston trip , my mom fitted in for good measure. The SHO gets an oil change every 3,000 miles at 5-6 week intervals and is almost due for her 118th change at 348,000 miles this weekend.

It all comes down to three words: maintenance, maintenance, maintenance. That's how you drive a SHO for the long run.
