Keep a close eye on the wheels. A few SHO owners have had cracks develop with the wheels. The load rating on the wheels is 1100lbs. The guys I know who have had wheels crack do track their cars. You may be ok with just street use. According to Road & Track magazine, the 1989 SHO has a test wieght of 3370lbs with a 63/37 weight distribution. This means that at rest the 1989 SHO has 2313lbs on the front wheels. This gives you a 87lbs margin to play with. The 1989 SHO is the lightest of all the SHO's. I was concerned that the load rating can be easily exceeded when braking or cornering hard, so I went with the OZ's (1700lbs load rating).

My wheels and tires weigh ~42lbs on a bathroom scale with 235/45-17 97W Yokohamas on the Superleggra. I do get some rubbing from the front and rear when the suspension is fully compressed. I also had to cut and roll the rear fenders. I do plan to have fenders opened up a little more when I do the paint and body in the future.

guess you could eventually get a lightweight trunk lid or touch it up instead, if you were so inclined. EXCELLENT motion pics, are you also a photographer ? I have a semi-solid photographic background and thought I took decent photos, but yours are coming out great:thumb:

Haha. No photographer. My photography experience consists of pretty much all the pics of my car on my photobucket page with my crappy digital camera. Thu iphoto I can change the brightness, contrast and change to black and white. I wish I had a better camera and photoshop. :)

well it may seem odd to hear my compliments, but trust me, quality Amateur car photographs are hard to come by. and first and foremost the best characterisitc for my tastes are good angles, so I would say if no one else has told you before you have what photographers call a 'good eye'.

I have a good eye for most subjects but cars give me a little trouble, I like my car photos ok but I think I will do better in the future. I am no longer that immersed in photog as I once was, in college I was pretty "serious" about it.

so anyway keep up the good work
