Any know a good place to get either the PSD 216 or the QSD 216. I really like the Q series but I don't want to pay 700 bucks for it wink

Thanks,

I got my MB Quart speakers from my local Car Toys. If you have one out there, I'd recommend going there. If not, I'd definitely check around online.

I bought my Sub in Germany and didn't even know you could get them in the states till I saw them at AutoFun but they went under and without going to a highprice shop I'm stuck but I figured Online I can find them but honestly I love the sound of Quart, just wish you didn't have to pay out the nose for it. :)

Try Carmedia1 they have great prices on all their products. I would suggest looking on Carmedia1 and then going to Sounddomain and if they carry the same product, to see if they'll price match it. You'll probably save a good amount of $$$ that way.

You can give them any site you want, but they have certain guidelines as to what sites they will accept from. I have had a sub pricematched from Carmedia so I am pretty sure they will take it for the MBQs. Also Carmedia has the lowest prices I have seen on all the products they carry, that's why I brought them up.

I spent the night hunting lowest price I found was 689 for the Q and that from BuyLoud.com but out of all the sites I looked at no one claimed to be a authorized dealer and only afew came and out said they weren't :) Anyway wife will freak if I spend that amount of cash on speakers so I'll buy lower end. I hate getting addicted to something. SHO's and MB Quart are going to break me wink

I highly reccommend that you stay away from Buyloud.com. I have heard MANY MANY MANY bad experiences about them.

Other great component sets that are very nice and can be found for less than the MBQs are Focal 165s and Imange Dynamics Chameleons. The Image Dynamics are absolute high quality speakers. I love all of their products and hope to have the Chameleons one day.

Yeah, I am a BIG fan of Focal speakers. The 165k2 is an incredible set of 6.5" components. The Utopia line is even more incredible. But then you're getting up into $700 again. But I like them better than MBQ. Of course, in car audio, it's 75% install. Plus it's all personal opinion.

Have you heard Q series Quarts wink

THe whole point of this post was cause I didn't want to spend 800 bucks on them. Back in the 90's when I swung through Germany I got a set (that stickers are gone so I can't tell you model numbers) for what was a 100 bucks back when you couldn't get Quarts here. I took everything out of my old SHO when I stold it and now took it out of the next to put in the new one, but I then I noticed the right one isn't working. Quart dealer in Minneapolis wont touch it and wanted me to buy the new Q series which from him was a GRAND! I thought maybe there was a chance I could find some online for a few hundred, but lowest I got was 500 bucks and thats from a Ebay dealer that claims they are new.
Thats why I said I'll go low end and save up. Probably will never have Q's in my car again though. I can't spend that much on spearker when I can have a Quafie for 400 more wink

Hey I found the Q series for $614 new. They have other models too, though I don't know what size you're looking for. Again I would strongly reccomend the Image Dynamics Chameleon components. They can be had for around 250 and are awesome. They are just as good as the Q series. They are very warm sounding and clear. Also the tweeter is softer and less harsh than the MBQs, though I believe the Q series tweet is not as harsh as the other MBQs. If you want to get a lower end a save for the Qs, I would def look into these.

The Q's are the top of the line, the tweets are custom Titanium with powder coat. THe ones I have are from the BMW 8 series at least supposedly I bought them in a shop in Bonn, That got me a frendly pat down from the police at the airport wink the wiring box and the little speakers (They didn't have Crossovers like the new Q's) look like a bomb on Airline scanners in Frankfurt.

Where did you find that price on MBQ and where can I get Image dynamics? If they are that good I could save money or at least get by with time to save up wink

Sorry man, I just never really loved Quart. I've always love the sound of a soft dome tweeter as in a/d/s/. Although I must say you wouldn't have to twist my arm on the Q's. thumbs_u
