Map updates

Does anyone happen to have the disc used to update the maps? Id be willing to pay a lil money for someone to send me a copy.

you use an s sd card to update the maps and it has to be in the car for it to work . I think you need an a7 card. Check ebay .

Mine takes a disc. Thats what it shows going through ford. There's no sd card slot

I'm fairly certain it only works on one vehicle. When I bought my car the PO bought a maps disc and it was in the glove box. My buddy had a F150 with the same Navigation and I loaned him my disk. But you have to inter a unique ID or something and it wouldn't update on his vehicle. Most likely you'll have to buy the update disk if you want it for your vehicle.

The A7 maps came out around the beginning of 2016 and are currently the most current available. My car has A4 and I think I am going to wait until the the next update.

You can also use the B maps which include Mexico instead of Canada. B7 is the most current.

My ford uses disks. This requires a key code for each disk set ordered.

Sync 3, don't know as there are no map updates yet

Ogre......what year are you? 2010-12 are DISC........2013+ are SD. Current Version is A7 there should be A8 coming out hopefully soon. I believe the 2013's started at A3 or A4. Anything less than A7 is probably at least two years old.

Mine is a later 2013 and it has the A4 maps. I'm waiting for the A8 to come out before I doesn't the money. A7 came out the beginning of 2016

I just ordered the A8 updated SD card. When it arrives, do I simply replace the current card with the new one? Or do I have to do some sort of system upgrade?

You may have to update sync from Syncmyride.com account you great. Sync should be at version 3.10? I believe.

A8 is current I ordered it back in late June. Dealer told me that SYNC 3 is WiFi updated so you need to park near a WiFi signal to install.

If connected to my cell phone, will it update? Sync won't take a wifi password longer than 10 characters, so I don't connect to my home wifi.

Sync 3 does not use S.D. cards for map data. In fact last time I checked sync 3 doesn't have a map update. If there is a nap update you'll likely have to pay. I don't think it will be free.99 since the last two systems were pay to play.

Sync 3 will update itself when the car has 2 bars or better Wi-Fi. How long it will take and if it will update key on I'm not sure. I though it was key off. When it checks for an update im not sure either. If you want to update it and be sure it's updated, use the website.

Gave up on my ford nav, using Google maps on a Samsung Tab E better screen better options much better size 9.6" screen. Using my Samsung galaxy S8+ as a Hotspot for it's updates

Android auto and sync 3 is very nice compared to sync maps and the paid subscription to travel link.

I don't like that it can't co mingle with the HVAC and ipod.

I was one of the few using destinations, it was nice could Send my next client to the nav unit, now we can't. Ford keeps only 50 locations and with 132 its only way to work it for now. Like it better than Ford, it rerouted me for some reason so I followed its reroute and avoided a 1hr backup for a rolled over semi

Well, as my software was up to date enough, all I had to do was pop in the new SD card. Map version now reads A8.

In hearing that the Sync 3 map update is available for certain Spins. It may run 400 bucks.

So, Android auto for me.
