I just picked up a 93 sho atx with a 130k miles on it. Ive hear alot of bad things about there cars if your dont do service at 60k and 120k miles. Im the second owner of the car and the guy before me saved everything he did...and i dont see anything about service done at 60k and 120k. Ive been told its something to do with the timing chain and the valve adjustment. Can anyone help me out on this please. I dont think my car has ever had the service done on it. Also i guess the water pump went on the car also. is that hard to change?

Out in front!
The maintenance on the sho is involved but not to diifficult use the search it has all been covered before. I did mine over two weekends with a little help from my bro. Basicly it's timing chain, valve adjust, water pump, CPS, main seal, new upper gaskets. Like I said it's involved but not to hard. good luck!

thanks guys...how much do you think parts and labor will cost me?

If you do it yourself, plan on at least $500-600 in materials. This includes WP, CPS, timing belt, cam and crank seals, valve cover gaskets, plugs, wires, shim kit, oil, tranny fluid and filter, beer, and Bandaids, etc.

If you have it done at a shop... more than the car is worth, probably. Expect $1500 or more for the above.

On the ATX, timing belt and valve lash are 100K intervals, not 60K miles.

Good luck
