I did the maintanace on both of my SHO's and the black 5sp car will not run now. Put in CPS and Ect sensers and now starts intermitantly. Pull the new CPS out and replaced it again and it started, but Check engine light came on again, saying the ECT was out of range. So new ect went in and no start again. This car was running fine, but the water pump was leaking and the spark plug seals were leaking. Any ideas would be great. She is getting fuel and compression is good, just no run.:thankyou:

so somehow you screwed up the wiring on the act / ect circuit. maybe a bad connector, maybe pulled out a wire from a connector, maybe you pinched a wire somewhere, something like that is most likely.

the car will not run right with the act (114) code. I have never seen a SHO with that code run right, so you need to search out the wiring issue.

Thanks, i will look it over again on that plug. I can see where it would run poorly with a bad ECT, but right now it will not start to run poor.

Fond the problem, When the DIS mod. was reinstalled, to much grease was applied and the car would not start. Once cleaned to a thin film, she started right up and is running fine.
Thanks for the help

Thats what I was kind of getting at, but Ive heard people call it both ways. I use the compound (white cream) on the back of my DIS, and grease (clear gel) on my spark plug boots. I was giving Bertha the benefit of the doubt.

The DIS grounds through the bottom two bolts. The heat sink compound should not affect whether the car starts.

I didn't make that comment meaning that using the wrong compound would cause the car to have a no-start condition. Just pointing out...

I remember reading an argument years ago. I think the conclusion was "use what you want".

I use heat sink compound. You know, the correct stuff for the application. ;)
