As soon as I have about 600 bucks to blow(in about 2 months) I'm gonna do some maint. stuff...I'm gonna swap intakes w/another SHO I have, clean them, replace all the gaskets I can, do the waterpump, if I can get someone to do the valve adjustments I would like to do that...and of course the plugs and wires...I'm not gonna do a complete 60K I don't think, pretty damn close though...

Any suggestions, clues, things to look for? Like I said, it will be a while before I do this, I just wanna make sure that there isn't something else that I should be doing...if there is, I wanna know so I can budget my cash flow accordingly....

Before I do this, I gotta have the driver side fender swapped/painted along with bumper, thats gonna run me about 500 bones...then I'm gonna have my local yocal shop replace the halfshaft that Alex AKA LL Cool A graciously gave me...then the maint...maybe by the end of the summer I will mod, but its not a huge priority right now...

As stated earlier, suggestions, input and anything else is welcomed and mandatory :D Thanks!

Try this post for some recommended parts and the suggested replacement intervals.

As far as "all the gaskets" that need to be replaced, the most commonly in need are the valve cover and plug well seals and the intake-to-head shim gaskets. There is really no reason to disassemble the intake and replace the fiber gaskets because they don't leak unless provoked.

The front main crankshaft seal is usually a cheap and safe part to replace each timing belt change. The camshaft seals are also cheap, but a bit more challenging to replace and are usually good for at least 150,000 miles.

Did you have any specific parts in mind? If you are doing the labor, you can do the full upper and front end 60K services within the funds you mentioned. If you must pay for the labor, you either need to save up some more cash or lower your targets.

As always; your the man Scott! Thanks for that post...I do plan on doing the work myself with some help from JTThomas if I can get him to come out and help me out. I don't think I will be doing the camshaft seals...they are a little out of my league right now, but I'm sure somewhere down the line I will be doing them.

Thanks again Scott! thumb )aka Master Yoda)"The Force is Strong with this one" :D
