Hey guys. I have a 126 code that I can't get rid of. I cleaned the MAF and sensor to no avail. The screws are also stripped out. Soooo I'm looking to replace the whole thing, or the sensor and screws at the very least.

So... after all the searching I've done, there is a lot of people discussing what will and won't work and that you'll need a tune with the large MAF blah blah blah...
So which is best for performance, without needing an immediate tune?
I figure I can try to at least gain some performance while replacing it?
Thanks.

If you don't go with a stock unit, I think the 73mm C&L MAF is the only one you can use without a tune. And, if you don't have any other supporting mods, a different MAF isn't going to increase performance either.

That's kinda what I figured. The car only has minor intake and exhaust at this point. Just don't want to replace it with a factory unit, if there is a direct replacement that can potentially give me a small gain.

There really isn't any appreciable gain from an aftermarket unit unless you have other modifications and a tune and can actually use alot more air flow. I would look for a used oem unit. I've had a few aftermarket MAF's and they were generally either no better or more often worse than stock units.

Thank you for your input. I appreciate it
