MAF sensor signal too weak.

I pulled this code again today. I don't remember the number, but it said,"MAF signal too weak." I had this code once before. I changed my ACT sensor, TPS, and un-programmed my A'Pexi SAFC within the last month. If it helps, I'm running the C+L73mm MAF with no LPM. And the stock "tube". Anyone know how to solve this?

The signal that the code is referring to has nothing to do with the sensor body that the electronics are mounted on. The code refers to a low output signal from the black electronics package screwed to the top of the MAF body. You can remove the electronics and clean the filaments with a spray of electrical contact or intake manifold cleaner, but chances are that won't solve the problem. The source of the problem is either a damaged filament, non-functional MAF sensor electronics or a bad wiring harness to the MAF sensor.

Scott, I know gthe sensor can be purchased through Ford. Does it come with the harness also?

One other question, if I were to replace my MAF with a ProM unit, will this elimante the stock electronics and harness?

The sensor stops at the connector. The harness is a separate assembly with several other wire runs in it. I don't know if the Pro-M includes the new electronics. Anyone?

Pro-M electronics yes- new harness no. New harness from Ford isn't too much if I recall correctly.

Thanx again guys. I'll have to check into the harness on monday. I think I'll just order the new harness and get a 80mm ProM. It's time for another upgrade.
