I posted on the want to buy forum that I need the bottom part of a timing cover for a 3.0. Night rider responded rather quickly saying that he had one for $15 shipped. I paid through paypal and after about a week it came. When I opened the package it was apparent that the timing came off a car that had been on fire. The fire damage was so bad it melted parts off and was unusable (see picture below). I e-mailed NIGHT_RIDER (Nick Marcu) and about the situation and he said "I apologize about the mishap, what can I do to make this better?" I was quite happy with this response and said "If I could get an undamaged timing cover I would be happy." He response was "let me look through my parts and see if I have a spare one." I few days passed and I e-mailed him to check the progress and he responds "Have not found one yet. If I can't find one within the next few days I will refund you the money." I was satisfied with that response and waited a few days. I sent him another email with no response. I sent another a few days later and still no response. After about 3 or 4 emails I gave up and open a dispute through paypal to try and settle this. He has yet to respond to any email since Sept. 20th. So he took my money and I have a burnt timing cover. I know for a fact that he is active in the forum so there is no excuse to why he could not respond to my emails. My advice to everyone is to avoid doing business with him.

Maybe a better picture would explain and show the melted parts you speak of. The one you have just looks a little dirty like most covers do.

The timing cover that I had sold you was a tiny bit distorted around the access hole for the tensioner, this by no means makes it unusable. I had pulled it off of one of my motors that I had in a car at one point. The cover is still usable, to cover up the bottom gear. As I had stated in my classified that all my parts are used unless specified. I had/still have pics of all my parts for sale, all a person needs to do is ask for them. I could see how a person would be unhappy because the cover not in Perfect shape and is dirty.

I haven't responded to anyones emails or pm's about anything because I started a new job and have been working 12+hrs on the midnight shift for the past few weeks. Working all that much didn't really leave me time for anything else but sleep. I know its not an excuse, but I can only do so much in a day. I started working Days this morning so I will be able to keep track of everyones pm's, now that I have more time.

I told you I will refund you the money, I had to wait till today to get payed because the new job held the paycheck. I didn't have any money left in my paypal account so I couldn't refund you that way. Now that I got payed, I will overnight you a MO as soon as you send me your address again.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Hope this does not change everyones opinion of me. I was just working alot, trying to get some money, thats all.

For the record, Nick sent my parts quickly, and they arrived in used but servicable condition. I was quite pleased with my transaction.

I have dealt with Nick also. Seemed like a stand up guy that was going through some sort of transition in life like all of us at one point or another.

In your defence, it sounds like Nick should have made more of an effort to communicate.

I'm sure he'll do the right thing.

Nick has offered me a refund as said in his reply. I am happy with his response and actions. The only reason that I was weary was that I had heard that he was online but I hadn't recieved a reply to my e-mail.
