Ok, so right after I bought my car two of the straps broke on my clutch. So I got a replacement from Advanced Auto :bigno: So I dont do burnouts but from time to time I'll row through the gears not shifting fast or anything. This clutch was a huge peice of crap, wouldn't even chirp second, just slipped. I put this clutch in about nine months ago. So last night I brought it to 7000 and just stepped on the clutch and now the thing wont go into gear smoothly. I'm guessin a strap broke again. So Im getting a new LUK replacement this time and a new flywheel. Anybody have this in their SHO's? I'm hoping this is going to be a much nicer clutch than the peice of crap I have now.

I had a luk clutch in my old 92. I'll be honest, i beat the snot out of that car while i had it. When i parted it out due to dropping the subframe, the clutch and pressure plate looked new. I had the car for about 2 years before rust took over.

The only clutch kits I will install in customer cars is LUK.

I also have had them in my SHO. They work fine.

Clutchmasters is also a good unit.

LUK clutchs are really nice clutches. I wanted a LUK but got a Dynapack instead(and it's holding up nicely :) )

I have a LUK clutch in mine (ordered a stock part and got LUK). Paired it up with a lightweight flywheel. Almost 10K now, so far so good.

Thanks alot guys. I have about 6000 miles on the Advanve Auto POS and I'm not happy that its already shot. I drove a 89 Mustang and beat the living crap out of that and I dont drive my SHO anywhere close to how I drove the Mustang.

Make sure you break in the new clutch properly over the first 500 miles.

Yea, I know this for sure. I babied the clutch thats in it now. I'm kinda at the point where I wanna do the clutch and then sell the car before I have to dump more money into it. It just sucks trying to sell these cars for something more than 1000 bucks. I really want a Marauder but dunno if I want to pay the 300 dollar a month car payment.

You have 1 of 900 ever made. A green 91 + is very rare compared to a Merauder.

I have worked on several SHO's from NJ.
P.S. If you ever do decide to sell it, (I hope not) let me know.

LOL... hands off this one Brian!

Seriously though, once you do the 60k and replace a few worn items the SHO will run forever.

Brian (Area 91) knows how to take care of these cars. He has a passion for them and I highly recommend him if you're not comfortable doing any work yourself.

I think I'm just bummed about the car cause it sho's (hahahah) its age and I'm sick of dealing with an old car. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE SHO's they are just a pain in the ass and I'm much more a fan of RWD. I think once I finish the clutch replacement I'm gonna be that much more happy with the ol girl. If I keep it, it will under go a full restoration. I bought this car a year ago from a member on here and have put about 12,000 miles on it and have really enjoyed it. I just hate it when I have to work on my daily driver and put money into it cause I'm currently building a turbo 88 TTop Mustang and this is setting me back from that project. I'll keep you guys updated on how it goes on friday. Thanks for the help!!!

I pout a SPEC Stage 2 in mine so far it has been a good clutch. But feels a little to soft at times but it does push back after a while. I have put on roughly 6000 miles so far and shift like a amatuer. The reason I put this one in is because it is kevlar and is suppose to be more durable than organic.
