Lug nut torque

What is the proper lugnut torque? I have a Chilton's manual, but I no longer trust it, as it had me troubleshooting my plug wires for HOURS, before figuring out that Chiltons had the wires labeled wrong.

89 Helms says 85-105 ft-lbs.

Nice to know I'm in the right range. I was told 90ft-lbs for alloy wheels of any kind. Of course, what does the normal mech do? Hit it with a 200ft-lb air gun.

I use 90 lb-ft and rarely have a warped rotor. I am amazed at how tight some of the lug nuts I have tried to remove have been. I have even sheared a 1/2" drive extension with my 18" torque wrench trying to get the lugs off of one SHO. How are you supposed to get these off with the angled lug wrench?
