2013 pp SHO, I am looking to replace the rear differential fluid wanted recommendations and if it requires friction modifiers added, if so which part number. My 35,500 mile car is currently getting a new PTU so that should be good for a year or two. I will take car to my repair guy who will flush and fill trans. He only uses synthetic but is there a recommendation for synthetic trans fluid too? Thanks for all replys.

If you have the trans fluid changed regularly, as in yearly, you can use the Motorcraft Mercon LV, that's what bpd uses. Another choice is Amsoil Signature. Haven't heard of how the Valvoline MaxLife works, but that is an option. BG Flush uses BF fluid, that is good as well. No friction modifiers.

None needed in trans, PTU or RDU. Start with good quality fluid, that is enough.

OK cool, used to locking diff in G8, had special 69 dollar **** with special friction modifier made with amino acids and other weird stuff. Dealer called may get my car back tonight, with new PTU. Will do the other two asap.....thanks

Perfect thank you! My car manual in my car at dealer. My manual lists my 2013 pp as having sp528 plugs.....? I guess I got an early build before change over to sp534.
Also mine says 5w-30 oil, Dot 4 LV only brake fluid (PP car), Orange coolant, trans says use ONLY Mercon LV trans fluid, and what the **** is blinker fluid, synthetic type bf?

1. SHOs do not have hydraulic power steering, so Power Steering Fluid should be "Does Not Apply" or something like that.
2. Engine oil was 5W20 for 2010 only, changed to 5W30 in 2o11. Best to follow what the label on the oil fill cap specifies.
3. Specialty Green & Orange coolants are not interchangeable. Must use what the car came with, if all else fails, use a universal that specs for both. In 2013, the Specialty Green was dropped, and Orange became the standard in the Taurus lineup.
4. Refrigerant is R134A: YN-19 (US), CYN16–R (Canada) WSH-M17B19–A
5. Refrigerant Oil is simply PAG oil: YN-12–D, WSH-M1C231–B
6. Trans fluid spec should be XT-10-QLV

Interesting, I am suppose to have 2013 PP, But says

My calipers are just metal color.......no mention of PTU cooler......I hope I do actually have the coolers, that whole reason I got the PP! I also don't have leather steering wheel, it's alcatrana(?)....but I do have high performance front fenders and high gloss skull cap!

Yup, apparently they changed the spec in 2013+. I updated the cells again.

I may have to go with a different approach for the matrix as the years are so very different. Thanks for the input.

Thank you for your continued efforts, sorry to be pain in ass. My car has the old plugs but new, orange radiator fluid, Dot 4 brake fluid (car is a PP).......Thanks again.
Also please note ALL years Blinker fluid has been updated to a Silicone based fluid and IS backward compatible for all years from 96 to current. Just saying....
