I'm new to this forum and I just recently bought my gen 3 SHO less than a month ago. I want to lower it but I can't find any lowering springs. Does anyone know where to get some?

And as is pretty much required when anyone new to the car first posts here, have you checked to be sure that your new to you SHO has had its cam sprockets welded? If not, you need to check and make sure it is done first thing, if it has not been done yet.

Yeah I heard about them being pretty funky and causing engine failure. I haven't had them checked yet. Do I just ask the mechanic to see if they are welded?

You an ask a mechanic to do it or you can do it yourself. It requires removal down to taking off the valve covers for both sides of the engine and checking to see if the drive sprockets have been tack welded to the actual cams. Its not a fast job, so lots of people tend to do it themselves unless they have an in with a mechanic.

Thats my thread about the lowering springs, I am very happy with the height, makes the car look and feel completely different. I found them on eBay, they're from a company called King Springs

Yep. As for my posts in thread mentioned above (link I provided therein), the Gen 2 Koni sport inserts, as suspected, are gone. The amazon purchase I'd made months ago was cancelled due to unavailability. It was worth a shot. Back to the drawing board, since my LOW springs are awaiting their backbones. I'd really like to have on-car adjustable strut inserts, but this is probably a pipe dream since it seems like the short-lived window in which vendors were making them for these cars resulted in low production numbers and therefore near zero NOS inventory at present day. At best, I'd be looking for a reman'd item previously exchanged due to defects. Lucky for Gen 3 owners that some aftermarket Gen 2 versions could even be used at all.
