Ok, just bought a 94 SHO with JBL system (subs and amp included). The radio seems to have some quirks, first of all, the radio is barely audiable until the volume bar is past half way....and when fully cranked, it is about on par with the stereo in my olds. wagon at 1/4 on.
Second, the volume button on the dash will sometimes only push the volume of the radio half way....then no mater how many times you push it, the volume bar will not move. Other times you can push the volume all the way down, and the button will push the volume bar as high as the radio can go.
Lastly, the factory CD player in the car hates me, everytime I put a CD in, it makes this clicking noise, over and over and over again. Sometimes it will do this, stop, start again, and cycle, and the eject button does nothing (often I shut the radio off because it keeps trying to play the CD, instead of the radio, but just cuts out my radio). Other times, you can put a CD in there, and it will work perfectly. Is there anychance the player just needs a good cleaning, is it toast, or are these older players just not a big fan of slightly scratched CD's?
Thanks, I am not very good with wires of any kind, so if the answers to these questions could be as simple as possible, it would be much appreciated!
