Low Compression?

Looking at a 92 MTX to purchase, saw where the owner had a compression test not too long ago and #1 cylinder showed a low (50lb?) compression, all the rest were up there. What is the usual cause of this? The car runs really strong, 195000km and has had the the scheduled 60k service.

Could be a bad valve or rings. Did they do a leak down test? What were the results on the others?

Frm Fall River, close to Halifax. Used to own a 95 mtx a few years back and would like to find another good one. Still checking out this 92 Mtx I found locally.

Good stuff, there pretty hard to find down there. I am from Cape Breton myself.

It can also be caused by a blown headgasket.
