During harder braking...only one or two thumps, 1 second or more apart. I figured it was the SFBs without even inspecting it. I possess ALSFBs, have yet to install them. Just figured I'd run this by you guys, see what the survey says, nah mean?

I had that same thing in my atx, its my rear sfb's. I tightened them up even thought they're chewed the **** up. It compressed the deteriorated rubber again and it helped a lot.

just found another part of my clunking the atx, my front left ball joint has some play. Jack you car up and get someone to wiggle the tire back and fourth, and then top and bottom and see whats loose under there in the suspension.:thumb:

Yep, the balljoints have been making that familiar Ford squeak when turning the steering wheel back and forth. The thumping is definitely felt in the floorboard, though...which I why I surmised SFBs. I just found today that my starter froze on me, too...so the balljoints will have to wait another month, at least. Glad this car isn't my DD...the irony is that my DD went under the knife the other day...gotta rebuild the carb. It'll get fixed before the SHO.

Just make sure that your subframe isn't too rusty (probably not a problem since you're in FL) before you put the ALSFBs on. If it is, they could just make the problem worse without addressing the rust issue.
