every since i got my car out of the shop after having used trans installed i noticed that the car wasnt getting a boost of power normally when the secondaries opened up. Next i tried to listen for the secondaries and coulnt really hear they used to be loud as ****. I know the car is slower because with my mods i ran a lousy 15.9 at the track and i struggle to beat my friend stock 94 atx. I have replaced plugs and wires dont know what else to do :madflame:

When do you feel you are missing power? Before the secondary's would normally open, or after? This will help determine if they are stuck open or stuck closed... You can also locate the small plastic black vacuum canister mounted to your intake manifold on the fire wall side. Follow the vacuum lines and make sure they are all connected. There is also a valve nearby that should have an electrical connector attached to it. Check to see if this is connected also.

I think your secondaries are stuck in the open position. Do a search here, as this has been discused many times, and you'll probably get a faster answer then waiting for fresh posts.

Good luck. :thumb:

Wouldn't that be stuck closed?? They open at 3950rpm which gives it that boost of power. If they were stuck open, the car would be louder and slower from idle to 3950rpm then act normally after that. Stuck closed would result in normal power until 3950rpm and then sluggish after that.

my car is fine up until the point where the sec. are supposed to open i hear and fell them open up a tiny little amount. nothing like it used to. Check the canister and vacum lines. I think i can tell if they open if that little pin on the intake open up when you rev the cat to 4000. is this correct
