Lose of power

i have a 91 plus and I went to start my car this morning to go to work and i got in and turned the key and got almost like a power serge in the car all the gauges turned on and all the light lite up and then when i turned the key nothing everything went dead. My thought was the battery so i checked the connections and they were good, so then i went and jumpped the battery and that did not work. then i took a good battery out of another car and i got nothing. I checked all my fuses and they were all good. The only thing i can think of is to see if one of the battery cables has gone bad their the pos. or the neg....... I have no power to the car at all

I don't know what the problem is, but I remember seeing someone post an almost identical situation sometime in the past month. Do a search and you will probably find it. I forget what the solution was. Maybe they will see this and reply.

Does all the power run through the starter silinoid before it hits anything?
