EDIT:
Based on feedback from some local SHO gurus, it seems that this is normal behavior. So please disregard the question. I'll leave it here, though, in case others search for and ask the same thing.
All,
Since I can't seem to leave well enough alone, I decided to take my throttle cable free of the throttle body, so I could get some graphite-based **** into it. On reassembly, I've run into a problem - there's a lot of free play in the pedal if the pedal is moved *away* from the floor.
The throttle opens and closes completely via the pedal, so strictly speaking, the car "works" just fine. This just seems really odd. Is this common with these cars?
A simple barrel adjuster like on a bicycle's shift cable would do wonders for something like this, if only I could work out a way to get one on there.
