Many on this forum have been running stock valves and springs with no worries.

With oversize valves (might add some weight to the valve, giving it more inertia) and stage 2 cams (the high lift) the stock springs might not be enough. Now I have herd that people don't have a problem revving to 8k rpm with stage 2 cams, yes it loses HP but I would feel a lot better with stiffer springs. That said, I have oversized valves and stage 2 cams in my engine, and I will be running stock springs:cool:

ya may want to see if there are any beehive style springs available. they control valve bounce better, so you can go with lighter springs. the big question is, are there any that would fit the SHO?

+1 mm valves here : http://www.rcmautomotive.com/id16.html

You cant go any higher then that anyway , not enough space in the combustion chamber.

Stiffer springs ,FPS http://www.fordspecialists.com/ has these , But at 8k RPM theres no valve floating with stock springs. Unless you want to go higher.

What cams youre looking for? 40+s

You wont regret it I promise.

hi guys
Im going with stage 2 cams and need some advice -
1/ The Valves - as per the link http://www.rcmautomotive.com/id16.html should i go for 36mm or something smaller and also how big is the stock valve???

2/ The Springs - i found some at jegs http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/category_10001_10002_10699_-1_11071
and not sure if they work but need to know as to what i should look for/would be appropriate.
Further with FPS what application of theirs would work.....

Dont wanna end up with the wrong stuff so need ur expertise on this.
Tks again guys....

36mm is an oversize valve for the sho. The oversize valves for the sho only add 1mm. That said if you are rebuilding heads and redoing everything, why not go bigger, you are spending most of the money anyway;)
