Hi Paul! Welcome to the board!

I am in Houston and have a '93. There are other owners spreadout all over Houston. The only get together I know of is typically in The Woodlands on Saturday nights at the bowling alley, where there is an impromptu car show.

We also have GTG's with the other owners around Texas in the Spring (Austin), Fall (San Antonio), and Winter (Dallas/Ft. Worth). The guys are a lot of fun and really knowledgable about the car.

For SHO related work, unless you do your own work, I would always take the car to Sergio Perfetti. Anywhere else, you take your chances...I know for a fact!

Also looking for Houstonians

Yeah, I was going to ask the same thing, where can I find some people here to help with my SHO and to hang out with. So the Woodlands is the spot huh?

If I lived in Houston I would only take my car to Sergio. He works at Jerry's Automotive. He has three SHOs himself and knows these cars top to bottom.

If you go anyplace else I bid you good luck.

My brother has a 92 and he heard about Sergio on this site and He has done all the work on our SHO's, He knows all about these cars,(as stated above) but is also very reasonable on the labor charge. When you first pull up and see the shop your like WTF. Its right behind a carwash, Here's the number to the shop. 281-999-1461 :thumb:

the bowling alley is a bit dated, the new owner's of the complex didn't like the idea so they decided to sick Oak Ridge PD on us. kinda strange considering its mostly older folks with they're domestics. the new meet spot is 2-3 minutes north at I-45 and Highway 242, right next to the Walmart between 6-9pm on saturdays.

Welcome to the real world

In and around the Houston area are an abundant number of SHOs.....
>>>>>>>to the fellow SHOowner from Montgomery...
.Kenneth and I live in Conroe. You can leave your number at the O'Reilly's on the north end of Frazier if you need immediate help with anything.
In the Conroe area, David Riley would be the finest mechanic to assist and diagnose probs. he is a county-wide well respected transmission specialist and has been the nurse for Snowwind for many years....he is currently at Mr. Transmission on S.. Frazier......
Ripley's in Houston and the Woodlands , either of the two locations, are SHOspecialists from a long history of working on performance Mustangs and the Woodland's SHOowners began going to them ......avoid Milsteads

Houston people are poping up all over the place.
Welcome! Pretty much the only times we meet up are for the major events (usually the runs or MSR track event). If everyone decides a date to meet up, we can easily do the Woodlands Car Show in the Walmart parking lot at 242 and I-45. (It was moved from the bowling alley at some point.) We (houston group) used to meet up for dinner or Kartzone back in the day, but we've kinda been lazy about planning meets lately.

I had a ton of fun hanging out with my LSSHOC friends this past weekend outside of Austin. My personal recomendation for a mechanic or SHO advice is Sergio Perfetti. He's tinkered with them since he bought one in 1989.

Some of the local folk that attend events include Gary, Ian, Sergio, Me, and others that escape my memory.

As I say, someone pick a date, and I'll do my best to show up.

I'd probably show up in the SHO, since it still goes fine. However I'd probably bring the Mustang if Murph wants to race his slow car ;)

It's amazing how going from a 2.73 up to a 3.27 rear can really wake a GT up. It's also really amazing how much cheaper it is to mod a Stang than a SHO.

Really? ok I'll race you in the slow car. :evil_gri:
Alright, it's a bet. :evil_gri:

Just make sure that you bring your slow car and not your "ugly fast" car.

The race against the "ugly fast" car has to wait until my SHO's marriage to Lady Vortech is official. ;)
