Hey Folks,

New to the whole ecoboost thing and have a line on some x-police interceptors up here in Canada. They run around $6500 at ~150,000km.

Simpler from an interior perspective but hardier suspension. My question is around engine and maintenance. Police cars tend to sit and idle quite a bit. Think the last one I saw had the hour meter sitting at 1500. The question...

Are there any regular issues or watch outs I should be paying attention to before purchasing the Interceptor?
Does the increased idle time cause any concern for a turbo car?

apologies if they're dumb questions - I'm used to naturally aspirated :) Have a good one and thanks

I wouldn't worry much about the idle time on the turbos. They would not be working very hard at idle. Just do a thorough inspection for any oil leaks prior to purchase.

I would imagine high idle times would be easier on the turbos as they're not making boost under idle. But if you're police drive like the ones here, every time they take off is a 0-60 race with themselves.
