Found a '97 with 160K miles on it, needs trans work, doesnt shift into 3rd gear. I have no idea if the cams are welded or not. The body is in good condition with very minimal rust only on the rockers. Interior of the car is above average. The guy is asking $800 for it, which I won't pay, what do you guys think about paying $600 for it?? Is that still too much?? Or a decent price for this car?? Thanks guys

Is this the one on craiglist. If it is the same one, wait a little longer, is started out at $1000. Im sure in spring he will take the $600.

Yes, this is the one Brian, I saw that he originally wanted $1000 for it. I want to offer $600 for it right now only because I NEED a y-pipe for my '96 and I cant find one any cheaper than like $350. My y-pipe has a huge rot hole in it right before the ****** where it connects to the flex pipe, and it is not able to be welded due to the size of the hole and the metal being too thin. I dont want to buy a new y-pipe if I can get a whole parts car for a few hundred more.

I was at harry's two weeks ago and didn't see any gen3 sho there, not saying it wasnt there, I could have overlooked it because there are 6000 tauruses there. If you get there and happen to see a gen3 please let me know so I can take another trip up. Thanks.

Just grab the magnaflow Y-pipe - it sounds a bit better and includes new cats too.

I am waiting for the stock Y-pipe on my 96 MTX to fail as the 99 has the magnaflow on it. Course the 99 has 175K on it so it may go to pasture before too long anyway and the Y-pipe will get moved to rowboat. Doesn't seem like it's worth pouring 5K into the 99 to stop the rust and feed it a tranny....
