I'm new to the forum but I've been looking for years. I've always loved the sho and wondered what it would be like in an RWD platform. So I took on the project of slapping a 3.0 into an rx7 chassis. it is wayyyy more involved than I first imagined. flipping the intake 180 is not as easy as it sounds. The plan is to use the car as a drift missile. ive got a ton of seat time in altezzas (is300) and skylines while I was living in Japan. I owned an rx7 way back in the day, so this should be interesting. so wish me luck, im gonna need it.

I bought an RX7 a few years ago with the intent of doing that project. After much work and analysis, I determined that the engine was too tall to fit in there without completely redesigning the front suspension and steering. The oil pan and the steering rack/front crossmember need to occupy the same space. I ended up putting in a 5.0 instead.

Motor mounts are made, turbo 2 trans bell housing has been adapted, the thermostat housing has been modified, right now im working on the manifold because i want the throttle body facing forward. Ive gotten in contact with off road sho to try and get a set of manifold spacers to make that happen. Theres a ton of details with doing this. The clutch, the fuel rails, the wiring harness. Right now im trying to focus on the mechanicals and getting it physically to fit correctly.

how far did you get on your intake flip? Just starting and curious how you addressed the wiring harness and fuel rail connections as they appear to be in conflicting spaces... also how did you route the lines from the bottom of the throttle body? Through the center channel? Thank you.
