95 SHO, takes 3-5 seconds to start vs 1-3 that is normal. Cam sensor has been replaced. Did a lower 60 about a year ago. Any thoughts? Have done nothing with the fuel system. Plugs are new, wires new. Help

Check for oil leaking from cam sensor area, and from the oil filter area onto starter. Fuel pump priming OK? The fastest start I have found is to put the ignition into RUN until the seatbelt chimes die out (6 seconds or so), then START. Fuel & engine oil primed at point.

try turning the key to 'on' for 3 seconds, then off again. repeat 4 times. then attempt to start. let us know if that makes any difference.

Yeah, what^ said. Check for a fully charged battery and that it spins the starter rapidly. Then check for good fuel pressure after the key has been rotated to run for 2-3 seconds (but not yet to the start position). After the fuel pumps stops its priming run of 1-3 seconds your fuel pressure should be at about 35-39 psi and stay there while you crank it. If it doesn't, you have a fuel pressure problem that needs to be tracked down.

If every now and then, it starts up quickly, then zero in on the cam sensor... even though it is new.

Thank everyone, The starter cranks fast, very healthy so I am going to put this on the back burner, only one year old as well. I don't have a fuel gauge yet but I am experimenting with the extended key in the on position, This seems to have mixed results but better. I havent tried then on for 3 seconds X4 but I will, what the heck. I hate to get a new cam sensor but haven't rulled that out yet.

Perks of owning a SHO. Starts first time, every time, most of the time, eventually.
