Here's the speil...

I was driving my car and I noticed that my driver's side door wasn't locked. So I looked at the other doors in my car and noticed that they were all locked. This is weird because I have a keyless entry/ car alarm installed that automatically locks the doors when I turn on the car.

So I pushed the button back and forth a few times, all the other doors would lock and unlock except mine.

So it can't be the button switch. What could it be? Easy to fix? And where can I get any of the new/needed parts to repair this.

Also, since I'll probably be tearing the door apart, I might as well fix the window problem I have been having.

My passanger side rear window won't roll down from the driver's seat. It'll roll up though. And it works perfectly fine at the window. I never bothered with it because I don't usually roll down the windows in the back, but since I'm going to be fixing the lock, I might as well fix the window too.

So what could it be? And what parts do I need to fix it?

Also, is there any step-by-steps that anyone has written up on this sort of stuff?

Thanks in advance!

does it work when you press the power locks inside the car? you'll have to pull the door panel. put your ear up to it and see if its making any noise and check all wires and connections first. i have heard that sometimes the wires in the doorjam can break...so dont rule that out. wiggle things and try the power locks again. if nothing of that sort works, then try getting another power lock actuator.

the window is prolly a bad connection -again could be in the door jam, or at the drivers door switches since it works at the rear door.

No, it doesn't. I tried it with the remote and the inside power locks. Nothing seems to work :(

I have some time tomorrow after class, or Friday before work. I'll probably tear off the panel and start playing.

well hopefully it dosen't turn out like mine did. My tumbler and linkage all froze up. Doorlock actuator worked... hehe you could hear it try, and eventualy it broke free from it's mounts, and it would just move around when you locked/unlocked.... nice thing is that the little stick thingy indicated that the door was locked when it actually wasn't.

Yeah rip 'er apart and make sure it's all connected and no corrosion has taken place at any of the wires and what not... can you lock the door with the key manually?

well its his rear passenger door, so no key, but the **** inside will work. or does it? does it pull up easy and push down?

i had to put a different latch and lock actuator assembly in my sho a month back... the latch assembly started jamming, particularly when using the power locks. i used a can of wd40 trying to clean it all out, hoping it was just dirt clogging it. but it stayed the same. so i went to the junk yard and got another. kind of a pain to do...but being able to use the door all the time is worth the work.

so the moral of this story? dont lock or unlock your doors when you g/f (or some1 else) is lifting the door handle outside...

The window actually works at the rear passanger door.

I got my driver's door lock to work. I still have yet to figure out the window.
