Haven't had much of an opportunity to play over my weekend off with the +4 tune file.

Stupid monsoon like rains are persistent as ever here in the CHITOWN area.... god sakes I feel like I'm in London.

Weathermen claim it's some strange, cut-off low pressure system that won't budge and just keeps recirculating over the same area.

There were even multiple reports of water spouts / funnel clouds over Lake Michigan too.

Just strange. Well 2012 is almost close, so who knows right?????

Anyhow, even with the incredible AWD of our cars, I still didn't wanna risk it too much.

Initial impressions though are that it does seem a lil more "spirited" than the "regular" stage 4, and the shifts feel better too.

A refined product indeed. Like fine wine, always get'n better with time.

Sooo, basically what you all are saying is that the 4+ tune is a better for daily driving than the stage 3???? If so, I am switching!!!! and just to be clear, the 4+ tune DOES have Torque Mgmt?????

Yes stage 4+ has torque management, and it will be better for daily driving.

Don't think it's a "problem" -- Sounds about normal tho I'm not sure mine "beeped".

How does it feel; any different?

all mine do that.... And I get new ones from Torrie regularly.

The 'light show' is worth the price of admission when loading Rick's tunes.
Sinc'ing a symphony would have made the experience even more enjoyable.:woo-hoo:

hmmm-- maybe version 4+A

Or how bout this Colin, perhaps have all of that fancy schmansy LED interior lighting flash and alternate throughout the available colors as it's uploading one of the various LMS tunes!

Now that'd be freak'n cool fo sho :thumb:

Not too mention that LMS would capture even more of that tuning niche market by doing something like that, that'd entertain all of us end users.

Geezuz, someone patent these ideas already for christ's sake

LOL, for sho, Mike. You can bet our man behind the scenes, Dan, has something in the works......:swing:

Let's see; My favourite classical is Tschaikovsky........my favourite pop is.......and my fav...

Not a suprise at all, Shome, glad you like it.

Another happy customer of LMSRick and Livernois Motorsports.

I hope Ford adopts this tune for a future edition of our beloved SHO.
Just a thought. -- you can bet they're lookin' at it at least.:)

Loaded the 4+ today. The ride home was awesome. The 4+ has some serious kick. Awesome tune. Had some serious torque steer the first time I punched it. Now I keep both hands on the wheel. ;)

Alrighty then......

Now that Mother Nature has finally blessed us with Sunshine and dry weather, I finally was presented the opportunity to truly test out this new +4 tune file for myself.

Very impressive I must say.

Admittedly, I had my reservations as I didn't think any additional improvements could be had over the "regular" 4 tune, but boy was I reminded very quickly of how wrong my position was.....

Most noticeable (at least to me) was the shifting.

Whether you opt for Auto, or Manual mode, the shifting is fan-freak'n-tastic!

Definitely noticeable on WOT as measured by the "butt dyno" method.

I was hurled backwards into my seat on each and every joyous full depression of the accelerator.

Particularly noticeable were the improvements in the Manual Mode option. The shifts transitioned with ease throughout the gears. Even the downward 3/2/1 shifts were much much smoother as well.

Acceleration you ask?

Well, I still feel like a lil kid on Christmas morning that just woke up, came down the stairs, only to be greeted by the wealth of toys left by Santa, as it relates to driving this improved "4+" tune.

Awesome, Awesome, AWESOME.....

I was greeted by repeated chirps from the tires in 1st, 2nd and even once in a blue moon 3rd, as I mashed the pedal downwards while positioned at the front end of a very long stretch of straight away pavement, just beckoning me to hurdle myself forward.

Cruising along at above posted highway speeds, passing of others cars was a breeze. Effortless dare I say

Anyhow, as one of the "originals" in LMS's stable of tuned, Gen4 SHO's, I am yet once again reminded with this new tune file, why I was so quick to pull the trigger (way back when) when they 1st introduced their offerings to us SHO owners so many months ago.....

To sum it all up...... this new tune offering is simply PHENOMINAL.

Happy Motoring Y'all :3gears:
I love how you write Mike... It is like a writer choosing the good words in his book... Thanks!

After all, 17 years and counting of report writing, I'm envied by the Investigators, praised by the Prosecutors, and feared by Defense Attorneys in 3 County's.

I just hope you have writer's cramp when I pass through town.:salute:

I think I've made a terrible mistake! (NOT) After running Stage 2 for so long, I dropped in stage 4+ and was suprised. Great tune, but alas I have a small problem, and I'd like to know if anyone else has it! In auto mode all seems normal. At 60 MPH and pulling the selector back to manual mode, the tranny immediately downshifts to 5th and the Overdrive cancel/grade assist light comes on. It will shift back to 6th with the paddles. Is this normal?

Another item. If you recall, I mentioned the shift handle was loose and would turn back and fortrh left and right. It can't be tightened as it's built as 1 unit, and the entire shifter must be replaced Part on order. Seems awfully wasteful to me!!!!!

That is normal on my EB Flex. When you shift to M, you are actually shifting into Grade Assist mode, manual mode does not occur until you shift to M and hit a paddle to shift either up or down.

Thanks guys! I'd just never seen this before with either stock or stage 2. When shifting into manual mode before at anything above 50 it would just go to manual and show that 6th was selected in the display.

Thanks again.
