13.3 came with low 30C temps and high humidity. Today it is going to be around 20 - 23C at the track.

Car has Corsa cat-back and Airaid CAI and the tune.

Then it is a fast track, you should get 0.2 with the improved tune and you just need a bit more than 0.1 sec contribution from better weather to see the 12's.

Good luck!!!

SOrry if this has already been covered. What is the cost of the new tune? I have gone back to stage 2 for smoother shifting, but loved the stage 4 power.

I sent Rick an email yesterday asking to get an updated Stage 4+ and it took him almost 10 minutes to respond with the file attached. I am blown away by the service level at Livernois. Spectacular!!!

That said, I am heading out to the track this evening to see if I can better my 13.3. That time was with the Stage 3/93.

How about it Showgun / Colin...coming to the track tonight? Tell her you have to work late...very late. LOL

Sorry guys/Roush -- I've been off site all day until now and just heading out to a neighbour's 90th b/day.
Busy, busy, busy.
Will check late for details and locations and go from there.

Incidentally, I also now have the Stage 4+ and have it in my X3 but haven't uploaded to the SHO yet but will this weekend probably tomorrow and let you all know how I like it.

Would be nice to have #'s tho for a direct comparison.
G/L at the track guys and tell us how you do.

Cheers,
Colin.

Anyone else cooling fan run nonstop since this tune, once warmed up? Don't think it's been over 60 out since I installed.

That's probably my fault. I asked Dan to turn the fans on a little earlier to help with cooling. I think alot of the mail order tunes are based on mine

Stage 4+ installed! Loving the shifts and power. Need to settle in and really see what it is like, for more than the 5 miles on it. Tuesday I am doing a day trip via my Flex to Philly and back from the Hartford, CT area, so with about 8 hours in the car in one day I should get a good feel of it. Plus driving on the Garden State Parkway and New Jersey Turnpike there always a little of fun to be had. Lots of tuned foreign cars on those roads.

You are probably right Darrell, after you and I installed the 170 thermo and new radiator, I think Dan left the fans on for everyone else. Don't worry guy's it won't hurt, just ask Rick to send you a new tune without the lower fan setting.

Just so you know Darrell, I'm being chased as well.......SWEEET! I love fun cars! Mod up boy's and girl's Darrell and I will be in the 11's next year!

My meth goes in this winter! Not the bad stuff though.

So Mike, better add me to that group of 11's tyvm :burnout:

Fellow Chi-Town motorists at large, BEWARE! Muahahahahahahahaha :3gears:

:laugh_ti::laugh_ti::laugh_ti:

You will have to come out to MI and hit the track with us next year.

Hey Mike (1st SHO), I am theone chasing you... I think your 12.62 is within my reach, but no way I will hit the 11's soon, I don't think I will add many other performance parts soon. BTW, that 170 thermo... Does it just maintain the temperature cooler... I mean, for a first run, 170 thermo or not, it is the same right? Is it just after a few runs that it has a necessity? Also, without it, my car seems to be able to do 5-6 consecutive runs within 0.03 seconds difference... So can someone PM me or direct me to another thread to inform me how that thermo 170 and new radiator can improve performance?
Thanks,

Steve

P.S. Mike, my goal is to hit 12.56 seconds this year... I had a best of 13.56 completely stock, so to lower that number by one full second seems to be a good goal with my current mods. I had that best time when temperature was in the 40's this past spring. So, this fall with stage 4+ and all the rest, I am confident... Watch out buddy! ; )

Our cars seem to run better when they hit warm up temps. For me it is 170, but a third run always shows slower times by about .1 sec. 12.56 is a good target if you have a good track, good air and sticky tires. I am confident if I had better tires that night I would have ran a 12.4-12.5 run. MPH was there for that run.

I will tell you from experience you think it should do better, but sometimes it just doesn't.

I had many runs in the high 108 and a best of 109.29mph without a spin because of sticky tires about two months ago when temperature was in the 70's and I was running stage 4. I really feel that stage 4+ should bring me over 110mph if temperature goes under 50's. Your trap speed is probably higher due in part of spinning when launching... the more you spin the better your mph at the end... So, like you say somtimes we think we should do better, but it doesn't mean it will. so I guess only time will tell. In my case, it should be in about 2-3 weeks. Temperature are still abnormally high for this time of the season (next three days above 80F), but then it's chilly times... I am happy to love going to the drags, it is the first time of my life that I anticipate with joy cool temperature... It helps going through usually boring months.
Cheers!

Those are great MPH's and you should post good numbers, but like I said before "you think it will run better, but it does" I don't know.

Sounds like a great plan count me in. Once I get these pods done, I want to get to work on some more mods.

Yikes, Steve, I've been 'away' for a while and lost track of your times!
12.775' @ 107.5 is freakin' awesome bro --- mucho kudos!!!!!!!

I'll have to search for threads I missed. I think some of my subscriptions aren't working right.

Best of luck next time out --- With cooler weather here, those 12.5's may just be reachable.

Can't wait for more results.

Stage 4+ uploaded.

Ready to engage in a lil well deserved weekend playtime.

Hopefully this tune is what all of you have been raving about.

It should be a good "fix" to tie me over until my meth kit / UPS fk up fiasco gets all straightened out.

Thanks Rick for sending me this file.

Keep y'all posted :3gears:

In all probability, Mike, you'll love Stage 4+ --- I immediately noticed different (read less harsh) trans shifting with the increased torque management of 4+ and what seemed to be a bump in power (I'm guessing thru higher boost).
I didn't boot the car enough to get it that hot that the cooling fans came on more than with the stage 4 so for me there was no change there.
"Stripping" as our Bob would say would probably mean much higher temps and cooling fan usage.

It looks to me like Dan at Livernois has fine tuned Stage 4 to better suit general use of the SHO --- I really like it so far.

G/L with the weekend's 'playing' -- I'm interested to hear what you think of 4+.

BTW, the more I read of the Meth injection kit, the more I see it as very beneficial to performance and engine longevity on our boosted engines. I believe it to be some good 'insurance'.
I plan on keeping my SHO for some time so I'm considering investing in a kit myself.

Keep up the great work with your SHO and sharing your informative posts/threads with us.

Cheers,
Colin.

Echoing Colin, after doing a little driving with the Stage 4+ I agree. First thing I noticed was the car seems a bit more responsive and seems to have a much quicker power curve. Since it was rainy and wet here, I couldn't really do any WOT stuff, but from a slow roll the car will still break the tires loose and does seem quicker. Overall, it seems that the Stage 4+ is a more refined version of Stage 4...glad I got it installed. Like everything else that LMS has provided, this is a great product! I would recommend it, I'm very pleased!
