How hard would the install of the T-stat be for someone not very mechanically inclined?:) would it be better to get a shop to do it?

Once you move the air intake, it's just two bolts. My thermostat had some pretty serious suction going on, so don't worry if it feels like it doesn't want to come out. Be ready for a decent amount of coolant to spill out.

It helps to do it after the car has sat all night and cooled off and, if you have a jack, jack up the driver side front corner. This makes the t-stat housing set a little higher and less coolant will be lost.

Lisle is a great idea, so is jacking up driver side during swap, then jacking up passenger side during fill...after 5 swaps I can vouch for these methods

Where are you located? This looks pretty straight forward and I'd be willing to bet that some help could be found.

I know Uvalde. My Brother spent some time in school down there and we grew up in Victoria so South Texas isn't foreign to me. (My version of S. Tx is probably not as far South as yours. ;)) Glad to hear you got some help, even though it does look rather straight forward.
