little smoke.. smells like oil

well i got back in my car after dropping my brother off at my parnets house.

the car had a light hint of smoke and smell of engine oil..

look under the car and the rear cat right behind the motor is wet with oil and smoking.

what would cause this.. im just about to tear it down and reseal the valve covers.

any other suggestions.

i guess it could be a trans leak.... but it didnt smell like it..

trans has 35k on rebuild, motor has around 25k on NOS block and reman heads

well thats what it looks like on the rear side front dont look like its leaking..

but once i got the intake off tonight i found a bolt rattling around in there.. looked kind of oil soaked but thinking how in the world would a bolt from inside the motor make it into the intake.

well it didn't completely fix my problem...

when i had everything apart i could see the exhaust manifold was wet with oil when i had the intake off.

so like i said i resealed the valve cover. ran the car in the driveway and everything seemed fine..

today i took it to work. and once drove for a while then stopped at a light with the heat on i could smell oil again..

now my drive to work is 45min+ 20 or so miles one way. i know the car was pretty warm to burn the oil left off.. but on the way home i expected it to not smell. tho i did notice when i looked under the car.. that no oil was leaking all over the cat and it wasn't steaming.

so im kind of lost.. today it did lightly smell like it couldn't have been trans fluid but my trans inst low..

could be that was my next guess.. or maybe a p/s line since i do use trans fluid in mine.
