little clunk

the car is fine but..I`m getting a little clunking(as in,something is loose)noise when I shift from first to second when the car is cold...seems to sound like it`s coming from drivers side but i really can`t say for sure..car drives fine and doesn`t pull...just 'old age' like me...?
what do yo think???
By the way..I`m starting to feel like the lone ranger...I have not seen a gen 1 of any kind since I bought the car....Neat!!!!

I'm acutally getting the same problem, funny you mention it. It USED to be just first, but now that it's colder, it's doing it in 2nd and 3rd. It's not just when shifting, either...it happens when you let off the throttle in 1st/2nd/3rd.

I'm thinking it could be as simple as connecting rod bushings or top mounts (rubber mounts make noise in the cold), but I'm hoping that it's not CV/Driveline related. Does anyone have any thoughts? Please? I plan on checking it out today, so I can give you some feedback.

CV joints. Just replaced mine and thats how it started for me. One side snapping and then the other joined in.
