I'm curious about this, but haven't found a real answer anywhere else. I figured that I'd try here.

How does the size of the Lincoln cars compare to the Taurus? I always figured that the MKZ was the Taurus equivalent, but with the Continental back this year I'm not so sure.

Is it more of a Fusion=MKZ and Taurus=Continental?

Also, Spotted a SHO in the wild the other day!Parked SHO

What what I saw of a Continental the other day, it looks like the size of the Fusion. I wouldn't be surprised if the MKZ is the next one to go.

I do know Ford lists 2017 Taurus on their website now ;)

I kinda suspect that as long as they're making the Police Interceptor Sedan, they'll make the Taurus available. They continued making Crown Vics for the general public all the way to the end I think. But I could be wrong. I hope I'm not - the lease on my 2016 is up in 2 years and 3 months. I'm not holding my breath hoping they make 2019's :bonk:

On edit: If they do not, I'll buy this one.

Well Howdy! I think a while back I was trying to decide if the Taurus I bought used to be yours. All I know about the previous owner is that he drove Lincoln to Omaha and back every day for two years :burnout:

The Continental is a couple of inches shorter overall than the MKS but it has a 6 inch longer wheelbase. That gives the Continental significantly more rear seat leg room. The Conti is also a bit lower than the MKS or SHO.

As mentioned, the MKS and Taurus are the same. MKZ and Fusion are the same. MKX and Edge are the same. MKC and Escape are the same. It's my understanding the Continental is a modified MKZ/Fusion platform.
