So I’m pretty sure I bought a sho tht hasn’t been used or kept up with in years nd I’m sure it’s a lemon should I just try to get rid of it? I’m still paying it off

I'm assuming that this is a eco SHO so I'm moving to the proper section. If this is an older SHO(89-99) and you are making payments on it then definitely get rid of it.

Lots of things people dont do when buying anymore. Extended test drives. Look over the car fax. Look under the car and around the engine bay. Easy to not buy a lemon if you look at everything and its history. Cant tell me you bought a 2013 sho with nothing on a carfax because it has a warranty and free maintenance from ford. In reality, every car is bought new at some point

It’s from a family owned carlot so idk and it’s my first car so
As a car guy who works on all his cars these are very reliable so if it needs a little work from sitting just get it done. They dont like to sit. No car does. And these cars get weird electrical issues on the inside from sitting but usually go away with normal run time. Id replace the battery as one of the first things to do along with changing the engine oil. These cars eat batteries so its just good to get a new one every 2-3 years. Sitting makes it worse on them also

I know this is a lot, but its very good to read for new owners.
Change the oil and we can go from there. Not sure on the ticking noise as im not there to hear it. Maybe its the fuel pump on the front valve cover. Maybe its foam cover is missing. Maybe the engine is low on oil

Is coolant leaking outside or under the car. Or is it leaking into the engine?
If its leaking onto the engine bay or road its an easier fix than blowing past the head gasket internally

Audio stuff... disconnect the battery for about 8 hours.

Coolant leak from where? Ticking sound just at start-up, or all the time?

It’s coming out straight onto the ground

Ive blown these engines, i have built these engines. Ive had the engines in and out of my sho. Upgraded about everything there is to upgrade. If you need me, just PM me. I can walk you though everything on this platform and even do it over the phone.
Edit: and i have tons of spare parts laying around i can ship out and usually dont charge for them. As helping a member in need is all i need. This is a community
