Putting oil in an MTX & oil started dripping out of LH halfshaft after clutch install. Is this halfshaft just not in all the way or is there another problem?

Or did you pull the old seal and forget to reinstall the new new one?

In any event, if the halfshaft fully seated (clicked) when installed, then the seal needs replacing. Sometimes they get dinged while inserting the half-shaft.

A replacement seal costs about 3-4 bucks....

The halfshaft has to be pulled and the seal is there on the tranny shell. Simply pull it and drive in the new one.

yes "simply" weeeellll almost simply the drivers side is a PITA. I just did this when pulling the trans a week ago and i delayed putting the seals untill the trans was in the car ..... major no no, put the seals in while you have the tranny out muuuch muuch easier.
