hello all, looks like my sho is leaking from the ptu somewhere. Car has about 34k miles and I just got it about to months ago. I did notice looking around under the car the ptu was pretty greasy when I got it so I cleaned it off the best I could and changed the fluid a few weeks ago. Now when I park it it leaves a few drops of clean gear oil. So I know I have a leak somewhere.
I guess my question is should this be covered under the certified pre owned warranty? I would think so. Just got wanted some input before I give the dealer a call. Thanks

Mine exploded @ 41K and it was covered under the 5yr/60K Power-train warranty. Didn't need to use my CPO warranty but could have if necessary.

That definitely sounds like it should be covered under the powertrain warranty....or the B to B warranty if the car is within 36 months from when it was first registered.

Thanks for the replies. It’s a 2013 from what I’ve been told the only warranty left is the CPO. I’m going to try to give the dealer a call today.

Just to update for anyone’s future reference, at the dealer and they are replacing the ptu under the CPO warranty.
I got real lucky with this car, I bought it not even knowing it had any warranty. The dealer that sold it to me was not even aware.

Actually that’s how I found out about the warranty I had. Was looking into getting it and found out I already had the CPO, I used a couple of the online dealers selling them and for some reason if you have a CPO, and want to get any ford extended warranty the rates are actually more if a car has a CPO. Makes no sense to me.
