Got my 2015 PP (88k mile) about 2 weeks ago and just got time to get under it a bit ago, and found what I believe to be a leaky seal? No red fluid, and it’s not dripping, but seems to maybe be pushing out something, but not exactly the sludgy peanut butter I keep reading about. No noises, no grinding, nothing happening, yet. Trying to get a baseline on how much life it has left but also definitely want to change the fluid soon. Hoping it can be a cheaper fix like just doing a new seal rather than a whole new case. If anyone has any insights please let me know!!

Without a PTU oil change at 88K let's get one. As the oil starts to dry up or the vent can get clogged it is the possible sighting of the oil from the ptu.

Read @SM105K maintenance thread.

From the top part of the engine, near the drivers side behind the thermostat is a vent tube. There are some models that had issues - don't think 2015+ was I think it was all sorted out by then. Check to see if that tube isn't slowly coughing up oil or clogged or anything. There are pictures of its location here on these threads. I know TXMaurauder posted one not long ago.

After consulting with previous owner, fluid was changed every 30k. Changed it at 90k, as it was due, and had the vent tube come off the case. Couldn’t find any diagrams or videos so figure I’d say something here if it happens to anyone else, there’s a small fitting if you follow the tube down that it gets back onto, no clamp or anything just a press on. On top of the case towards the driver side of it. Other than that I believe it was changed successfully, looking out for any noises or vibrations now as I’d really like to not have to replace the whole unit someday.
